Bethesda is a historic town in Gwynedd, situated in the Ogwen Valley at the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia). The town grew rapidly during the nineteenth century around the Penrhyn slate quarry, one of the largest slate quarries in Wales. Slate shaped the town's economy, architecture and community for generations.
