Oswaldtwistle is a town in the Hyndburn borough of Lancashire, situated immediately south of Accrington. The town expanded rapidly during the Industrial Revolution through cotton spinning, weaving and other textile industries, leaving a strong industrial character that remains visible in its historic buildings and former mill sites. The decline of textile manufacturing transformed the local economy during the twentieth century.
